G. Patterns

These were largely two-dimensional wall pieces, largely made of plexiglass strips, assembled into patterns for visual effect. They can be understood as extensions of similar Bauhaus-type line studies. However, they are not two-dimensional, but have been extended here to include consideration of the depth of the strips.

Florsheim explored different placements of the strips, to achieve different effects. The piece above, "Wall Pattern" (G7), is a floating plane, while "Shifted Rectangles" (G8) has white pieces placed on a translucent background, both floating and shifting. Others, such as "Diamond Pattern" (G6), are internally focused, and more intimate.
